Logitech Quickcam Pro For Notebooks

Can I setup my Logitech Quickcam Pro for Notebooks on my landline, desktop computer?

I need real expert advice. I don't want to destroy my desktop or screw up the software/webcam in any way. I know that it says "Notebooks," but what might happen if I stick with the desktop?

I have the same webcam and have it connected to a Desktop (not the Notebook) when I talk to family in VA...Never had a problem with it--just plug it into your USB and use as normal!
